Resource Advisor – Fireline Qualified

Duties:

• Determine the need for environmental restriction within the fire area and provide input as to appropriate suppression actions based on resource concerns
• Develop recommendations for fire suppression rehabilitation of control lines in assigned area
• Monitor rehabilitation efforts
• Provide guidance during the implementation of rehabilitation activities for assigned area
• Coordinate with local specialists (biologists, archaeologists, engineers, resource specialists, recreation specialists, etc) and/or incident supervisor, to identify potential impacts of suppression or management activities
• Identify existing utilities, roads, pipelines, and other uses on the land that may be affected
• Identify potential resources issues that may occur as a result of the incident or incident activities
• Provide input for the development of a fire suppression rehabilitation plan for the agency administrator and the incident commander
• Provide input for the initial completion and/or revision of a published WFDSS decision
• Document potential and actual suppression/fire-related resource impacts and the rationale for protection of priority areas
• Provide input to the development of a long-term plan to provide oversight, documentation and evaluation of rehabilitation efforts
• Anticipate impact on resources in assigned area as the suppression or prescribed fire operation evolves
• Ensure that planned mitigation measures area carried out effectively on the fireline in assigned area
• Provide content input on the development of short and long term natural resource and cultural rehabilitation documents
• May serve as liaison to agency administrator, resource users, and other affected parties
