L 180 Human Factors in The Wildland Fire Service 2014 Online Delivery

Online Delivery

This online course exposes students to human performance concepts as part of basic wildland firefighter training. The course is designed for entry-level operational personnel; however, this course also applies to all wildland fire service personnel, including non-operational personnel.  Additional information about the course can be found on the L-180 overview page.

Instructions

  1. Complete the online course (estimate 4 hours).
  2. You will be directed to the National Fire Academy (NFA) Online website. You will need an NFA Online account to take this course; follow directions on the NFA Online website to obtain an account. Search for course title in the catalog and add the online course to your “To-Do-List.”  The NFA Online learning management system will track your progress.
  3. Print the NWCG certificate of completion (instructions below). Keep the certificate as proof of successful completion of the course.

 

 

1. Confirm the installed Adobe Reader is the current version for the browser you are using.

2. To print the online course completion certificate, log into your NFA Online account. From your Home Page select VIEW ALL in the Completed Work pod.

3. Hover mouse over the title of the course, wait for pop-up, and select PRINT CERTIFICATE.

NWCG Equipment Technology Committee Releases New Equipment Bulletins

The Equipment Technology Committee (ETC) has released three new Equipment Bulletins:

  • ETC-EB-24-003 Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) in fuel containers.
  • ETC-EB-24-004 Two-compartment fuel and oil container (Dolmar) unavailable in the United States (US) and reminders for upkeeping current inventories.
  • ETC-EB-24-005 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Inspection, Care, and Maintenance.

These bulletins remind field going personnel of important issues related to equipment for wildland firefighting efforts.
